New Port Business Brings Trucking Service

In April, the world’s carrier alliances restructured to form three major alliances: 2M, Ocean, and THE Alliance. This has led to a surge in business at the ports up and down the West Coast. A side effect has been slow-downs in trucking times at some terminals including Seattle’s largest container terminal. Certain terminals at LA/LB Ports have also experienced slow-downs, although most have not. The Port of Oakland has been able to keep trucking times normal, despite the increased business. Supply Chain Dive has details on this story first reported by the Journal of Commerce.
