I am pleased to update you on the substantial progress weve made in implementing TruckTag, the new security program at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

As you may know, the TruckTag program was created to enhance security in marine terminals at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach by improving the process of checking trucks and drivers entering the terminals. Under the program, PierPASS has distributed RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) electronic tags to be installed on trucks, similar to the FasTrak and E-ZPass devices used for automated toll collection, enabling quick security check-in at the terminals.

We are in possession of this flyer, which is being distributed to all truck drivers at the L.A./Long Beach Harbors advising drivers to strike on May 1. 2006.

Effective April 24, 2006 the rate per TEU (20 container) will be $50.00. This means that 40 containers will be subject to $100.00 each. These rates are for containers picked up during peak hours which are 3:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Containers picked up after 6:00 PM until 3:00 AM are not subject to the rate.
